About the Author

If I'm being honest, this is probably my least favorite page on the whole site.

I've been told that if I want people to find my work, I need to post more, blog more, build a personal brand, and put myself out there. I understand why. But none of those things are what I enjoy.

I don't enjoy being the center of attention.

I enjoy solving problems.

Give me a complicated process, a stack of confusing regulations, contradictory information, and a notebook, and I'm happy. I study. I ask questions. I research until I understand it. Then I organize everything into something another person can actually use.

That's what these guides are.

Volume One wasn't written because I wanted to become an author. It was written because someone I care about was navigating a system that seemed designed to make simple answers difficult to find. As I researched, I realized countless other families were asking the same questions, chasing the same documents, and making the same frustrating phone calls.

So I kept going — and Volume Two exists for the same reason.

If you've picked up one of these guides, chances are you're trying to help yourself or someone you care about. If that's the case, I hope it saves you time, reduces some of the uncertainty, and gives you a clearer path forward.

I don't claim to have all the answers, and I don't claim to replace an attorney. What I can promise is this: every guide I create is built the same way. I learn everything I can. I organize it. I test it. I document it. Then I share it in the hope that the next person won't have to start from scratch.

That's the work I love.
